This panel explores ethics as the foundation of practising sustainability, within a framework situating environmental values in essential connections among environmental and social justice while prioritizing the pursuit of those goals. We define the meaning of environmental ethics and its place in the learning process at university and beyond, as well as its role in society today and what its role could be, whether as part of a generational shift or otherwise. We interrogate the meaning of sustainability in terms of ethics. We bring together the discussion by asking how we can communicate environmental ethics to make a difference.
