Examines the evolution of management thought and the major theoretical contributions to organizational theory and behaviour. The course covers key management theories and practices, including Scientific Management School, Human Relations Approach, Contingency Theory, and System Theory. It also examines contemporary approaches to structuring and managing organizations including, Culture Excellence Approach, Japanese Approach, and Organizational Learning Approachritical perspectives on organizational theory will also be examined including Postmodernism, Realism and Complexity Perspectives of organizations. TCritically reviews concepts of power, politics and culture, and managing change through comprehensive examination of key contributions from a range of each of thoughts on management practices.
