About the Kelly Awards
The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards were created in recognition of Dr. Gerald O. Kelly, the first installed president of 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版 University, through an endowment fund.
Dr. Kelly, a teacher by trade, believed universities should be built around the learner. With students top of mind, he encouraged 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版 instructors to strive for excellence in teaching.
Nominations
Faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to nominate outstanding instructors at 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版.
Each spring, the call for nominations opens. It will be publicized throughout the university community. An awards committee, made up faculty, a student, a graduate and a representative from CTET, selects the winners.

General eligibility
Core and associate faculty members at 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版, including lab instructors, who are currently teaching for-credit courses, are eligible for Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards.
Instructors who teach in Professional and Continuing Studies are eligible for the Outstanding Workshop Facilitation Award.
Award recipients agree to share, through a variety of media, their approach to teaching and learning.
Eligibility criteria by award
Kelly Outstanding Teaching Award
- Candidates must have taught five or more courses at 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版.
- Previous recipients of the Kelly Outstanding Teaching Award are ineligible. Instructors can only win this award once.
- The nominator must show how the candidate demonstrates a sustained record of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to continually improving their teaching and learning.
- The nominator must identify what makes the candidate’s course and approach to teaching unique.
New Teacher Award
- Candidates must have taught fewer than five courses at 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版.
- Previous recipients of the New Teacher Award are ineligible. Instructors can only win this award one time.
Team Teaching Award
- Candidates must have taught three or more 企鹅电竞查询v6.9 安卓版 courses together as a team.
- At least 50 per cent of the team must be first-time recipients of this award. Said another way, teams are ineligible if more than 50 per cent of the group has won this award previously.
- The nominator must show how the candidate demonstrates a sustained record of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to continually improving their teaching and learning.
- The nominator must identify what makes the candidate’s course and approach to teaching unique.
Outstanding Workshop Facilitation Award
- Candidates must be instructors in Professional and Continuing Studies.
- Candidates must not have won the Continuing Studies Teaching Award before.
- The nominator must show how the candidate demonstrates a sustained record of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to continually improving their teaching and learning.
- The nominator must identify what makes the candidate’s course and approach to teaching unique.
